The Humboldt Co, NV Sheriff is in charge of the criminal investigation. ALSO stolen was a world class collection of precious gems, many appraised, that he faceted as a master faceter who was well known & respected in his circles, Jim Marks.
He bought good faceting rough from Leah & I whenever we had it for sale. Missing is: many great domed Virgin Valley, some possible faceted, Juniper Ridge Opals, Montana sapphires, Nevada Garnets, Idaho Smokey quartz, He was an avid cutter and collector. The collection included whatever he made from in the author Allan Eckerts rough collection that he had bought from Allan. He like to perfect new cuts on synthetic materials too, like the breast cancer ribbon visible thru the face. The entire inheritance was taken.
RIP Jim. You were old school opal miner and a good neighbor, we loved you.
