The opal snake head cast. It was cat scanned for bones, negative as a cast is generally opal skin to skin. Center is straight up POC and outside coating is contra luz with POC.
The chin feelers location for a Western Shovel head snake would have been above to top of the opalization layer. Definitely play of color but not some 5 bright super gem. In glycerin but the body segment i have is dry and never been stored wet. Its not crazed. Asking $25,000 US to buy it now. Comes with documentation & provenance, serious inquiry only please. No Im not making a movie. That would be the privilege of the buyer to do or i may smash it for an NFT like some Banksy person.
Nobody else has ever photographed it or certified it was just a rock despite it being offered for id & recording by Berkeley. Which is who said it was a snake and not a lizard cast, but would not certify that….. ie none of my emails were answered with a I can do paleo herpetology for free or for a fee. Why not? Its one of a kind whether you believe it yet or not. Can you tell Im still seeking an expert?

Tiny Mexican Fire Opal parcel 10.6 gm
Half are precious somewhere or contra luz at least. These are the sorted from the Jars I had bought in the past as the bright sand. 20 gm gem parcel one & a 10 gm halfway gemmy fire opal. They are small but some have brilliant play of color others just fire opal. I would guess they have NEVER been dried. They may change, BUT I would bet on change from my experience with other jars. Treat it as its raw wet rough. Dry it gently, NOT in an oven, but not returnable after you take it out of water.
The small sides pulled in grains and smooth small nodules seem to do the least do the least crazing from here. Cracks are a size & time thing when dealing with mineraloids, crazing or opacity changing is usually at the first good water loss after being mined. Not as much goes electric when dried.
Looking thru the smaller parcel in the sunlight thru a window in a water filled plastic baggie
This is the 20 gm parcel of all gem.
The twenty gm gem parcel. See how little color shows. I mean you can see the fire opal hue well, but not the flash in them all. The piece by the TARE button on the scale is 2gms; matrix with opal area showing. And the peachy piece eye is down.
This is the gem parcel. Small stones with play of color in Mexican Fire Opal.
You have to look at opal in hand to appreciate it. I just cant physically do the shows hours and standing anymore by myself anymore. Thats also where Leah & I used to find the deals out table sniffin’.
I have mining claims I cant climb to also which Start at 2,000. The valley is waiting for the new generation of miners to continue our traditions. I live here in Denio to show them. My main gig was doing Opal Seminar Tours for $200 using the claims to demonstrate on teaching prospecting then being hired as a consultant after sales also. 30 years of it. I know where the logs were laid & what smells. I never came here to make a fortune & leave. I like it looking pristine with mainly digging by hand cause you cant find opal fast.
Here is my link for a 10 dollar off deal for your new order on whatever they make. I will get a discount off my next order if you do. I just got another custom T-shirt.
The new regulations made official last year FORBID any non claim owners picking up petrified woods. I have precious opalized wood unpatented claims starting at 200$ for the “sales seminar” and then you do all the work. Ive been here 30 years and know whats what.
I will be allowing free rockhounding (wood is the big game here & opal is the exception in/on it) as always where Im not mining. ie normal land use laws.
In Nevada you are required to file your paperwork at the county, but BLM is taking Intent to Hold fees without ever seeing if the paperwork was filed. Would this be logical? Would it not be required they check instead of sending the owners to lawfare in civil courts for them not doing their jobs and declaring the claims invalid?
VIRGIN VALLEY OPAL MINING SEMINAR TOUR or CLAIMS FOR SALE To hire me for my exclusive Opal Seminar tour displaying the claims for sale call 775-941-0725 or email me at clodbreaker@gmail.com $2,000 to $100,000 for the best prospects on precious Black, Crystal & White Opals available without paying millions for the established fee dig. All claims produce opals & the opalised wood they are found in along with the precious opal pockets possibly only another pick away. I don’t offer fee digging on every claim. Buyers are allowed to test dig by paying for fee digging taken off the price of that one. Prices vary depending on features such as gravel roads, power access, lack of overburden & past production or surveys. All claims have produced precious opal before location. Cost is $200 for my proprietary information given during the 4 plus hours long tour of the mining district. A few mines require a 4×4 to access. You dont have to buy a claim to learn how to mine opals. After the Opal Seminar you don’t have to hire me again to go rockhounding “in the know”, so I need paid up front for gas and what I know that is not published. The refuge banned using tools to rockhound off a claim. I’ve lived here mining for three decades prospecting, mining & selling the opals. I have the keys to the Kokopelli for fee digging at advertised rates. I’m their representative and the Opal Negra owner also. If you want petrified limbcasts or logs, I offer fee digging at $200 a day on my exclusive excellent wood deposit & precious opal is found there also. Keep all you can haul away. One Millsite with power and a well, phone & internet access with an accompanying claim. Price is $50,000. No more well drilling or power installation is allowed here now. Fee digging for Chysocolla & copper minerals from the vein by Denio that is a proven producer is only $50 per person, half day entry, $100 by the bucket or boulder mined or $200 from my stock. Some Gem Silica is found in association with the Chrysocolla & Malachite.
